DEVELOP RESILIENCE
The Mental Health at Work 2018 Report from The Princes’ Responsible Business Network published at Mad World states 61% of employees have experienced mental health issues due to work or where work was a related factor. The report stipulates now is the time for employers to do everything they can to support the mental health of their employees and that good employee mental health is crucial to running a successful, sustainable organisation.
Prevention and early intervention is vital to this success and sustainability, not a reactionary response. Giving employees the opportunity to develop resilience, higher levels of emotional intelligence, self-awareness and a tool box of coping strategies before poor mental health occurs is fundamental. Specialist workplace mindfulness training and the i-act programme are highly recommended for this purpose.

LUNCH & LEARN WORKSHOPS
Often, if you are starting out and want to gain employee interest and get seniors on board a lunch & learn or short workshop can get the ball rolling. We have a variety of interactive and informative sessions to choose from lasting 60-90 minutes.
General Awareness: this interactive session is a great way to raise awareness across your business and inspire your teams to start those conversations safely. It’s all about reducing stigma and promoting the all-important message of self-care.
Manager’s & Leaders Essentials: this vital session helps raise awareness within senior teams covering workplace mental health, stigma, employee distress and resilience and organisational responsibility.
Discover Workplace Mindfulness: this experiential session covers the basics of workplace mindfulness practice to better cope with stress and enhance wellbeing. It can act as an introduction to the six week course or as a standalone.
Building a Thriving Workplace from Bullyology: this three hour workshop is a practical course designed to give employees, managers and business leaders a more complete understanding of workplace bullying and harassment: how to prevent it, how best to deal with it and how to be an upstander (rather than a silent bystander). It also outlines the harmful effects bullying can have on productivity, staff retention, talent acquisition and employee health while exploring what is means to have a psychologically safe workplace.
WORKPLACE MINDFULNESS
In recent years researchers have turned their attention to the impact of mindfulness on the working population. For the individual employee, negative thinking affects their ability to enjoy life. By being consciously aware of their thoughts, the employee can take control of their emotions and actions and positively change their environment. Benefits include:
Performance:
- Improved cognitive flexibility
- Improved focus and concentration
- Increased ability to manage difficult situations including change
- Improved teamwork and communication skills
- Greater innovation and creativity
- Increased levels of safety
Mental Health:
- Improved emotional regulation and discernment
- Reduced feelings of being overwhelmed and stressed
- Decreased levels of absenteeism caused by work-related stress
- Reduced levels of anxiety and low mood
- Ability to make wise choices
- Increased resilience with lower levels of burnout
- Improved sleep quality
- Overall improvement to general wellbeing
The Programme:
Start with a taster session and progress on to the six-week training programme aimed to develop mindfulness skills. Employees attend a one-hour training session each week on their premises learning new techniques to improve general wellbeing and resilience, which they then practise each day and apply to their work.
Who it’s for:
This mindfulness training is tailored to your workplace and meets the needs of leaders, managers and employees (A specific course for leadership is available).
Where it takes place:
It’s designed to be taught in a standard meeting room, without the need for additional equipment or unusual room layouts and was designed by specialists in corporate learning design.

MINDFUL LEADERSHIP
“In years to come we’ll be talking about mindfulness as we talk about exercise now” Sally Boyle, HR Director at Goldman Sachs, Mindful Nation 2015
Having been a CEO for a mental health charity and a team leader at a financial consultancy in the City of London for a total of 11 years I can personally vouch for the benefits regular mindfulness bought to my daily working life. Being at “the top” doesn’t have to be a stressful place. Improved emotional regulation and discernment can reduce feelings of being overwhelmed in pressurised environments.
A wide range of major UK organisations across the public, private and voluntary sectors have introduced mindfulness projects within the past few years including a number of NHS trusts, the Department of Health, civil service departments, corporate banks, global product and media companies.

WHAT OUR CLIENT'S ARE SAYING
I can only echo what has already been said. Thank you very much for such an inspiring session!
Victoria is an excellent teacher with a lot of knowledge on mindfulness and best practice; whether you’re new or looking to learn more about mindfulness this course provides an excellent foundation upon which to base your practice
Victoria made the training interactive whilst fully informing myself and my employees on the importance of mental health and wellbeing. We covered a variety of topics ranging from signposting employees to further services and going into detail on the various issues which may affect an individual's mental health and wellbeing. It has personally helped me as I now know how to spot signs of well-being within employees and feel confident that I can support them . This training has also highlighted the importance of this topic and will encourage the organisation to put employees wellbeing at the forefront of their people strategy
I feel like I’ve just been born! I now need to train my “baby-mind” from sticking its fingers in the live sockets of habitual thinking. I’ve woken up to my autopilot
I thought I knew what mindfulness was but not after the session...it was very inspiring...I now know what it means to notice my thoughts rather than react to them
We addressed difficult topics but Emma enabled us to build confidence with the discussions and activities, and created a comfortable helpful atmosphere to learn
The course enabled me to develop some techniques which I am already able to use in order to give myself time before reacting adversely to situations. So it has made me aware of my previous auto pilot and that means that I have been able to stop it happening at times and as a consequence it limits the stress
Thank you for the workshop, the practices were great, it has inspired me to know more
Having practiced meditation as a part of my regular yoga practice I was not a stranger to a lot of the concepts within this course , however learning about the practical application of them and the theory behind it ingrained/heightened the role that meditation plays in my life
I thought I knew what mindfulness was but not after the session…it was very inspiring… I now know what it means to notice my thoughts rather than react to them.
Emma encouraged people to think differently about their own and other’s health. It encouraged me to be more empathetic
Thank you very much for yesterday, it was outstanding and I can reassure you that many people share the same view and we definitely sparkled some passion. We are so happy that you were our chosen host for the Taster session!
I thought it was a very good course because it combined theory with practise and I liked that, even in 1 hour we had time to do a practise each week.
Emma’s training style is very engaging and the mix between knowledge sharing and practical exercises was exactly right. We were given some excellent tools and tips which have helped us get on the right track for our drive towards creating better awareness and care for mental health in the workplace
This course has completely changed my working approach. I have more energy, feel less stressed, and have improved my focus and performance
